Cookies and local storage

Functional and optional statistics
Functional cookies support login and save your progress. We also ask for your consent to collect visitor and click statistics. We will not start collecting these statistics without your consent. We do not use advertising cookies.
Which techniques?
- Session and login cookies: to keep you securely logged in, to control access and to enable you to log out. They expire automatically.
- Temporary login details: for one-off secure login links and to prevent misuse.
- Local browser storage: to save your progress through a digital journey, to resume where you left off if your connection is lost, and to retain your chosen display or installation preferences on your device.
- Technical security details: hosting and network data required to handle traffic and investigate attacks or disruptions.
Storage and disposal
Session cookies are deleted when you log out or once they have expired. Local progress data remains on your device until you clear it from the history, delete your browser data or the technical retention period expires. You can delete this data via your browser; however, this may prevent you from logging in, restoring your account or accessing your saved progress.
Visitor statistics
Once consent has been given, we store a random browser code and a session code for each website in local browser storage, under vm_measurement_browser_v1 and vm_measurement_session_v1 respectively. The consent status is stored under vm_measurement_consent_v1. A visit ends after 30 minutes of inactivity. We track page categories, product interest, clicks leading to orders, usage, download clicks and campaign origin. The tracking data is stored in our central Verblijfmakers storage and is deleted in batches after 180 days. We do not store IP addresses, names, email addresses, submitted responses or personal guest links in this system. You can withdraw your consent via ‘Statistics Preferences’; the local tracking codes will then be deleted. Existing tracking data will be deleted in accordance with the retention period. Orders and payments are counted separately from our accounts system.
